BREAKING NEWS: FG increases fees for Nigerian Passport amidst Economic Hardship



The passport fees will be reviewed by the federal government and go into effect on September 1, 2024.

The Nigeria Immigration Service said in a statement on Wednesday night, August 21, that the review determined that a 32-page passport booklet with a five-year validity that was previously priced at thirty-five thousand naira (N35,000.00) would now only cost fifty thousand naira (N50,000.00), and a 64-page passport booklet with a ten-year validity that was previously priced at seventy thousand naira (N70,000.00) would now cost one hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00).

 

The statement claims that the fees in Diaspora have not altered.

“While the Nigeria Immigration Service regrets any inconvenience this increase might cause prospective applicants; it assures Nigerians of unwavering commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times.” the statement reads in part
