Bemgba Iortyom, the state publicity secretary, and Isaac Mffor, the state deputy chairman of the PDP, are among the people suspended with Ortom. Cornelius Hwande, the PDP's media consultant, confirmed the suspensions in a statement on Monday.
According to Hwande, Ortom was suspended because he supported the Labour Party's candidate in the 2023 election and made a declaration advising the Benue PDP to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential contest.
Azua Ashongo, the party's vice chairman for Zone A, was also suspended due to severe indiscipline and disobedience. Due to their involvement in the theft of Congress materials meant to be used for the conduct of the ward congresses in Buruku and Ushongo local government areas last Saturday, Mffor and Iortyom were placed on suspension.
