Abandoned baby found de@d on Anambra Church premises

In the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, on the grounds of a church at Engr Chukelu Street, Ububa South, Nkpor Agu, a newborn baby girl was discovered dead.

Early on Monday, August 12, the baby's body—suspected to be a day old—was discovered.

The infant is seen in an internet video completely coated in dried plantain leaves.

A voice heard in the background of the video asked for information about the kid and identified himself as the Nkpor community's chief security officer.

The unfortunate thing that happened to me was that I went to investigate a dead one-day-old child who had been left at a church on Engr Chukelu Street, Ububa South, Nkpor Agu.

"Anyone who knows who may have committed this dastardly act should please come forward so we can assist police in their investigation. The incident has been reported to the Ogidi Police Division."

 

When the police arrived on the scene, they gave the order to remove the lifeless body.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with community members providing assistance.
